Duratel™, Utility Transmission and Distribution Products
Duratel manufactures a full range of composite utility transmission and distribution products, including monopoles, H-frame structures, crossarms and accessories. Duratel pultruded products typically produce a smaller footprint than competing materials, allowing safer and easier backyard, roadside, remote and other difficult access installations. Any custom hole drilling requirement requested by customers can be accommodated and performed in our factory using CNC machines. Due to the toroidal design groundwires can be run internally to protect from copper theft and Wi-Fi antennas also can be housed in our poles.
All Duratel products contain multiple UV inhibitor and stabilization elements to prevent blooming, and other damage from prolonged exposure to sunlight. Fabrication holes can be pre-drilled to customer specification in our factory or safely and easily drilled in the field using a carbide-tip bit.
Duratel’s lightweight composite poles, accessories and products accept most standard industry hardware. When taking into account lowered cost of transportation, installation, and total lifecycle factors Duratel offers a better return on investment than traditional utility poles, including wood, steel and concrete

Monopole
Distribution, Transmission, Lighting, & Wi-Fi
Duratel composites demonstrate superior performance in extreme weather conditions and have been successfully tested to withstand heavy ice conditions as well as extreme wind conditions. Our distribution products offer a significantly longer lifespan than wood poles and can easily be removed and safely recycled at the end of their service life.
Duratel offers three profiles: 11", 12", and 14" diameters.

H-Frame Structures
Duratel offers composite H-Frame structures that can be used for electric sub-transmission or transmission applications in a range of lengths and sizes. Duratel H-Frames weigh considerably less than traditional wood structures and are easier to transport and install. Wood structures are susceptible to rot, insect attack and deterioration that require costly maintenance and replacement. Duratel composite H-frames are non-conductive and engineered with an extremely high strength-to-weight ratio. The poles can be quickly deployed with minimal hardware and labor, factory drilled to customer specifications or modified in the field, if required, using a carbide-tip bit.

Reinforced Support Bases
The most common method of installation for Duratel’s composite pole is direct burial. However, in some environments this is prohibitive or not feasible due to foundation concerns. Rocky terrain, restricted easements and irregular soil conditions are just a few examples that might require the use of Duratel steel base.
Duratel offers a full line of galvanized, powder coated steel bases that are unique in design, and can retrofit to existing bolt patterns. The bases are engineered specifically to fit Duratel’s reinforced, pultruded composite pole products and work with any municipal or highway installation.

Pole Steps
Duratel poles can be factory drilled to customer specifications to accommodate permanent or detachable climbing steps. Each step option is made from galvanized steel and attaches using standard hardware.
Permanent steps can be ordered in single-sided or working step configurations. Steps are secured through the pole and will support up to 750 lbs. of load without fracture or disassembly from the poles.
Detachable steps are recommended for use on the lower extremities of the pole for access to permanent fixtures. Duratel offers the climbing step bracket, through-bolt, detachable pole step, and all hardware in one affordable, easily installed package.

Sleeves & Pole Caps
Composite sleeves slide inside pre-drilled or field-drilled holes to prevent over-torquing and pole wall crushing. Duratel composite sleeves are 1-inch round and can be produced in variable lengths.
Duratel poles come complete with impact resistant pole caps and composite base plates. Caps are fitted to poles using removable self-tapping screws for easy access. Base plates include drainage holes and can be drilled to the customer specifications.
